Position Summary:
 

As a qualified tradesman at Rivercity Trailers, you will be entrusted with the responsibility of demonstrating impeccable workmanship, meticulous attention to detail, and maintaining day-to-day efficiency in your role.

 

Position Description: The role encompasses a wide range of responsibilities, including but not limited to fabricating all RCT products, cutting, bending, and drilling, as well as ensuring a clean and organised work environment.

Responsibilities:

 

​1. Complete work in line with our values and standards

 

• Collaborate effectively within our team, aligning your actions and behaviors with our company values.

• Uphold RCT's high standards of quality in all aspects of your work, consistently delivering exceptional results.

 

​2. Ensure maximum efficiency & productivity

​

• Arrive 5 minutes before start time.

• Return from breaks on time.

• Think ahead to save time and increase efficiency.

• Minimize material wastage.

• Use initiative to identify and suggest more efficient or alternative approaches to tasks, and proactively communicate these suggestions to the workshop foreman.

• Follow the order of build processes.

• Communicate stock levels to the manager.

• Stay focused on tasks until completed.

• Ensure tools are in the correct places and use the right tools for the job.

 

3. Ensure a safe, healthy, and incident-free workplace

​

• Take ownership and initiative for ensuring safety in the workplace.

• Follow company standard operating procedures (SOPs).

• Work safely at all times, adhering to safety protocols for every task.

• Alert management about incidents or potential risks for improvement.

• Watch out for the safety of fellow team members.

• Report any unsafe or damaged equipment to management.

• Maintain workplace cleanliness while performing tasks.

 

4. Contribute to the development and protection of our company culture
 

• Actively participate in whiteboard and toolbox talks, and encourage others to do the same.

• Initiate conversations and ask questions to achieve desired outcomes.

• Debrief meetings, situations, and conversations with the team to foster learning and continuous improvement.

5. Follow all systems and processes

• Consistently follow the instructions outlined in our Product Drawings.

• Always follow our specified build process orders.

• Conduct thorough quality control checks.

• Accurately complete and submit time sheets.

• Follow the policies for sick and holiday leave.

• Follow the policies and procedures regarding vehicles and machinery.

 

Qualifications Required :

 

• Valid driver's license

• Trade Certificate

 

Desired Qualifications:

 

• Forklift Licence

 

Tools Required:
 

• Hammer

• Squares

• Tape Measure

• Welding Helmet & Gloves
